For the 13th year, travellers voiced their opinion about Kenya’s hospitality industry in the Travellers’ Choice Awards. TripAdvisor, one of the most popular travel websites globally, runs the Travellers’ Choice Awards. This annual fete evaluates the quality of service and the traveller’s experience through reviews and opinions submitted by millions of travellers in a year.

Kenya’s top hotels, according to the reviews by guests, are

1.      Medina Palms

Located in the beach safari town of Watamu, this beach resort has luxurious rooms and suites and it is designed like Medina City in Morocco. It has apartments and plush penthouses too.

2.      Fairmont Mara Safari Club

Its location is perfect for adventure seekers since this luxury camp enjoys unrivalled view of Mara River, in Maasai Mara. This camp has 50 luxury tents; it offers fine dining in Maasai Mara and a number of fun-filled safari activities.

3.      Lantana Galu Beach

This luxury resort overlooks Gale Beach. Guests stay in apartments, holiday homes, penthouses or bungalows.

4.      Sarova Mara Game Camp

Guests enjoy daily excursions in the enchanting plains of Maasai Mara. Other activities in this camp are mini golf, birding and fishing.

Guests can explore the ocean from this resort. It is set on the beach, in Diani.

8.      Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

This safari club is located on the slopes of Mount Kenya.  It has hosted affluent personalities over the years, and its range of facilities includes a serene golf course.

9.      The Baobab

Set on Diani Beach, guests wake up to a picturesque shoreline and serene tropical gardens. It has vast hospitality facilities including three swimming pools and a range of dining options.

10. The Boma Nairobi

This hotel has 148 spacious rooms, a variety of restaurants and fitness centres. Owned and operated by the Red Cross, the proceeds go towards the humanitarian organisation’s projects.

Medina Palms also ranked 19th out of 25 top hotels in Africa.  Other leading hotels in the top 25 group are Cape Grace in South Africa, Kapama River Lodge in South Africa, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita and Baraza Resort & Spa in Tanzania.
