Leave Nairobi for the white sandy beach of the Indian Ocean. Fly from Wilson Airport to Manda Airstrip at the coast. Several airlines operate in this route such as Safarilink, AirKenya and Fly540.
From Nairobi, it is about an hour’s flight to Manda Island. Hop onto a boat taxi from this island to Lamu Island. Kipungani Explorer Lodge sits on the edge of the long sandy beach.
This luxury lodge has 13cabins made of locally assembled materials to produce elegant, spacious units with thatched roofs and palm leaves floors. Each unit has a large veranda furnished with a sunbed hammock where you can spend the day reading or listening to the ocean.

Activities on the beach and in the ocean include boat trips to Manda Island, crab-catching, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, swimming, sailing, kayaking and water skiing.
