Check in at Ngong House on half board basis. This city hotel sits in a tranquil environment overlooking Ngong Hills, just 20 minutes from the city center. The most striking aspect of this lodge is its tree house design. The rooms are in a single and double storey tree house raised from the ground just like traditional tree cabins. The bedrooms are in the upper floor to give you amazing view of Ngong Hills without leaving your luxury tree house. The main house has a suite to cater for the physically challenged or those who prefer to stay away from the tree houses.

Meals are served outdoors or in the open air dining rondavel. Breakfast and lunch is served under the shade of acacia trees in the compound while dinner is served indoors.

Lake Naivasha

Depart for the Great Rift Valley expedition after breakfast at Ngong House. Naivasha is about a 1hr and 30 minutes drive from Nairobi. It takes about 30 minutes to fly from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Lake Naivasha.

Check in at the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort, which is located on Eburru Mountain. From this high point, you have amazing view of the valley and attractions around it such as the dormant Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha.

This lodge has a variety of rooms. The garden facing units have a balcony so you can view the Great Rift Valley without leaving the comfort of your room. They have king size beds or two twin beds and handmade furniture. The Longonot double villas have a spacious living room, dining room, bedroom and a kitchen. Tee off in the 18-hole golf course while enjoying the sun and the view of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Baringo

Depart for Lake Baringo after breakfast at the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Course. Lake Baringo is another of the must-see attractions during a Great Rift Valley expedition. It is about three hours by road. Sail by boat from the shore to Ol Kokwe Island, and check in at Island Camp Baringo.

This luxury resort has 23 en-suite tents with a papyrus roof over the canvas. The interior is furnished with handmade beds, mats and bedside stools. The transparent screen gives appealing view of the lawn and the gardens. From the private veranda of your tent, you can see the lake and other attractions beyond.

Enjoy sumptuous meals in the open dining room while viewing activity on the lake. Dinner is 5-course and lunch is a variety of salads, pasta and other light dishes.

Island Camp Baringo has a number of exciting activities such as Ol Kokwe Island cruise, birding safaris, cultural visits to mingle with the Njemps tribe in the vicinity, sundowners on Gibraltar Rock and water sports. These adventures attract a nominal fee, but the experience is worth the expense.

Lake Naivasha

Get back to Lake Naivasha after an unforgettable experience in Lake Baringo. The fresh waters of this lake shimmer against the heat of the African sun. The forest around this lake is home to hundreds of birds making this location one of the birding capitals in Kenya.

Check in at the deluxe Lake Naivasha Country Club, which is one of the oldest resorts in this location, dating back to the 1930s when Lake Naivasha served as a staging post for aircrafts heading to parts of Africa or London. Explore Lake Naivasha through a fishing trip to look for black bass and tilapia.
