Maasai Mara

Explore Lake Nakuru National Park in the afternoon. There is so much to see beyond the rhinos and flamingos roaming around the lake. Amboseli National Park

Hence, an afternoon excursion on the first day and the following day is enough time to visit all corners of this park and see as many birds and mammals as possible. When the African sun becomes too hot for you, go back to the lodge for lunch and rest. Visit the plains in the afternoon to meet buffalos, zebras, wild dogs and any other species that live in Amboseli.

Ngorongoro Crater

This day will see you cross the border into the plains of Tanzania. With all the excitement in the air, breakfast at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge will be icing on the cake. Leave the luxury manyatta-style (traditional huts of the Maasai) rooms at this lodge en-route to Ngorongoro in Tanzania.

Proceed to Namanga, the border crossing point between Kenya and Tanzania. Pass through customs and head towards Arusha. Have lunch within this bustling East African City, at Kibo Palace Hotel just a few minutes from the city center. This luxury hotel, named after the highest peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, has sumptuous cuisine served in a serene restaurant with a beautiful view of the swimming pool. Leave the tranquil atmosphere of this hotel and proceed to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Within this protected zone is the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, the consequence of volcanic activity millions of years ago. A large section of the land collapsed following volcanic activity, what remained is a caldera covered by savannah vegetation, forests and a freshwater lake. Wildlife inhabits the floor of this caldera as well as around the rim and in the region outside the crater. During the great wildebeest migration, wildebeests, zebras and gazelles from the larger Serengeti ecosystem pass around the crater, rarely going in, as they head to Maasai Mara in Kenya. Ngorongoro Serena Lodge will host you at this attraction so you can explore it as much as you want. This lodge sits on the edge of the caldera giving you amazing view of the crater’s floor. You can see animals such as rhinos grazing on the floor and the larger ones such as elephants close to the rim.

Serengeti National Park

Depart for Serengeti National Park after breakfast at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Stop over at Ol Duvai Gorge, an archeological site whose findings date back to the life of the early man two million years ago.

Serengeti National Park is one of the word’s famous reserves.  Miles of grassland of this park offer a home to millions of animals such as buffalos, rhinos, elephants, zebras, gazelles, impalas, wildebeests, lions, waterbucks and dozens of other species. Around Grumeti River, you can find monkeys and crocodiles. The Serengeti ecosystem includes Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. The great migration takes place here so be ready for a remarkable safari.

Stay at Serengeti Serena Lodge, which is strategically positioned close to Grumeti River, Ol Duvai Gorge and the Western corridor of wildlife. The two storey rondavel huts grow out of a thick forest making the lodge blend into the natural vegetation easily. Tour the plains after lunch, and continue with your excursion the following day to see wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants etc.

Lake Manyara

Visit another attraction in the Great Rift Valley after breakfast. This gorge cuts through Kenya and Tanzania.  Lake Manyara is an alkaline water body in Tanzania. The road trip gets you to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge in time for lunch. This lodge is on the edge of the plateau looking out over the lake. like all other properties under this brand, Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge has a unique architectural design resembling traditional rondavels. Nairobi

Leave Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge and drive to Arusha town. Have lunch in this vibrant city and head to Kilimanjaro Airport for a flight to Wilson Airport in Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi to relax and await your evening flight out of Kenya. Check in at Ole Sereni’s day room for a shower, snacks and an afternoon siesta.
