Our guide will brief you on the things to do in Nairobi before you head out in search of the sights and sounds of this metropolitan city. Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is the first stop. This sanctuary, near Nairobi National Park, is a conservation area for orphaned elephants and rhinos. Named after David Sheldrick, a conservationist whose love for Kenya’s wildlife is unmatched, his wife Daphne established this orphanage to ensure survival of elephants and rhinos. These animals are released into Tsavo East National Park when they come of age.

Your next stop is the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) popularly known as the Giraffe Centre. Mingle with Rothschild giraffes; watch them slide their prehensile tongues over your hand as you feed them. Find out what it takes to care for this species and just have fun.

Travel to the hills of Ngong to explore Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens. Within this estate is the Karen Blixen Museum that chronicles the life of the Baroness Karen Blixen whose life is told in the world famous film Out of Africa. The farm house, where she lived, will take you back in time to pre-colonial Kenya.

After all the fun and adventure in Nairobi, go back to Fairmont Hotel in the late hours of the afternoon for rest, excellent food and courteous hospitality.

Maasai Mara

Depart for Maasai Mara after breakfast at Norfolk Hotel. Catch your flight at Wilson Airport where Governors Aviation will fly you to the national reserve at 9:15am. Upon landing at Musiara Airstrip, 45 minutes later, enjoy the scenic drive to Il Moran Camp. Maasai Mara is a beautiful country with miles of savannah vegetation, forests, hills and wildlife roaming in the grassland. Check in at this luxury lodge and sit back for a mouth watering lunch meal. Il Moran Camp is one of the Governors’ Camp properties so you get nothing short of award winning accommodation. The spacious tent with screen netting all around lets you enjoy the wilderness without leaving your large hand-made bed. The bathroom has a bathtub, a shower, wash basins and a flush toilet. The tents are beautifully decorated with mats and lanterns.

Leave this intimate lodge for an excursion in the afternoon. View animals in the plains for a few hours and get back to the lodge for dinner. Il Moran Camp sits on the shores of Mara River giving you an excellent place to dine alfresco. Even when dining in the open tent, you can still enjoy the sound of the river while sampling delicious food under candle light.

The next two days are for thorough exploration of Maasai Mara. There is a lot to see from elephants to giraffes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras and gazelles to rhino. Two days of adventure make it easy to have morning and afternoon game drives. Start the day with a mug of coffee and muffins, go for a game drive and get back for brunch before another excursion in the afternoon.

Lake Manyara

Enjoy one more game drive in Maasai Mara before breakfast to see what you may have missed the previous day. Afterwards, pack and hop on a plane to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, and into a Tanzania bound plane to Kilimanjaro Airport. In just about one hour and thirty minutes after you leave Maasai Mara, you will be in Manyara Airstrip alighting from a Regional Air flight. Our guide will take you on a cruise through Lake Manyara National Park to see the wonders of nature that lie in this little known region. The wildlife includes a pack of lions that love to stay on top of trees instead of on the ground, elephants, warthogs, monkeys, buffalos and wildebeests.

When you get enough fun for a day, check in at Escarpment Luxury Lodge for a sumptuous meal, and rest in an African themed chalet with a spacious balcony overlooking the lake.

After breakfast the following day, do it all over again. Go for a game drive; enjoy the serenity of Lake Manyara and the fresh lake breeze.

Serengeti National Park

Depart for Ndutu Area after breakfast at Escarpment Luxury Lodge. It’s a drive north of Lake Manyara as you head towards the southern plains of Serengeti National Park. Lake Masek Camp will host you in a lavish rent with a thatched roof and a raised deck. The veranda gives amazing view of the lake, which you can also view from the lounge area. Enjoy a finger licking lunch meal as soon as you check into this lodge. Leave the camp for an afternoon drive, in the plains of Ndutu Area, until late in the afternoon when you get back to the camp.

Leave this camp for the northern side of Serengeti National Park for two days of fun at Grumeti Luxury Tented Camp. On the way, drop into Ol Duvai Gorge for a sightseeing expedition of the human evolution dating back about 2 million years ago. Check in at the camp and enjoy dinner.

On your last day at Serengeti National Park, explore the plains that host over 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebras and gazelles during the great migration. You will find other species on the savannah such as lions, elephants and, giraffes and cheetahs.


Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area will be your next stop. Still within the Serengeti ecosystem, this region has a beautiful landscape with a crater covered by savannah vegetation, forests and a fresh water lake at the middle of the caldera’s floor.

The Manor, in Ngorongoro is a jaw dropping lavish lodge with an amazing view of coffee plantations, hills and the rest of this region. This is a plush resort with a spacious lounge area, a lovely garden, bar, spacious rooms furnished with modern comfort such as large bathtubs. Experience urban luxury within the remote hills of Ngorongoro as you enjoy a relaxing sundowner cocktail.

The next day, have breakfast, put on your safari clothes, armed with a camera and a pair of binoculars, and descend to the floor of the caldera. The walls of this natural wonder shelter animals on the floor from the world outside. Most of these species such as rhinos, lions and elephants rarely go up the caldera’s walls. Since your guide will have packed lunch ready for you, go back to the lodge in the evening to rest after a day’s tour of Ngorongoro Crater.

Amboseli National Park

Depart for Arusha town after breakfast. Our guide will organize packed lunch so you can enjoy it on the way to the bustling city. Head to Namanga border, to cross over into Kenya and proceed to Amboseli National Park. View the plains of Amboseli and Mount Kilimanjaro on your way to Tortillis Camp. When you arrive and check into a spacious tent with a thatched roof, you can head to the dining tent for dinner. This lodge has an amazing view of the plains of Amboseli.

The following day, prepare for two game drives so you can explore the plains of Amboseli. Start with a morning drive to spot and see elephants, lions, birds, cheetahs and giraffes among others. Go back to the plains in the afternoon for another round of adventure all this while enjoying the scenic Mount Kilimanjaro. This land mesmerized great authors such as Earnest Hemingways so be sure it will do the same to you.

Nairobi-Norfolk Hotel

Before leaving for the capital city, tour Amboseli in the morning, have breakfast, and enjoy another game drive. Thereafter, have lunch and take the ride back to the city. Check in at Norfolk Hotel.

Nairobi-Carnivore Restaurant

Wake up to a hearty breakfast at Norfolk Hotel and relax in the lodge for some hours. An hour before noon, our guide will take you out for lunch and shopping. Enjoy an excellent meal at Carnivore Restaurant before heading to JKIA for your flight out of Kenya.
