The undulating plains of Maasai Mara are home to the big five species that draw thousands of tourists to Kenya.  Mara Plains Camp is best suited to provide luxurious nights in this famous game reserve. It is situated in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, bordering Masai Mara Game Reserve to the north, along Ntiakatek River.  This conservancy is rich in predators like leopards and cheetahs, which wander around the camp.

Mara Plains Camp is a lavish, small camp. It has seven tents only. These spacious tents are raised from the ground so that guests see the savannah from the deck. There are endless miles of unoccupied savannah because the conservancy has about five camps only, which means each guest has about 700 acres of privacy.

Activities and Experiences

Masai Mara has a high tourist density especially from July to October because of the great annual migration. Nevertheless, visitors can have an adventurous, uncrowded tour of the rolling plains by choosing Mara Plains Camp, which is in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. All conservancies around Mara have a strict policy about the number of tour vehicles in the plains, per day. Therefore, there is a low vehicle density at any given time.

Game viewing is the best adventure in Mara Plains Camp.  The skilled tour guides can track predators and other Mara species easily.  Guests explore the conservancy in open game drive vans with a removable canvas roof for those who want to take the best photographs. There are night game drives too in the conservancy.

Other excellent activities in Mara Plains Camp are bush dining and picnics, a visit to the neighbouring Mara reserve, enjoying sundowner cocktails, hot air balloon safaris and cultural visits.
