Mara Expedition Camp is set on a corner of Ntiakitiak River, in the plains of Olare Orok Conservancy. It is on the edge of the riverine forest where the scenic savannah starts. It is situated a few kilometres from its sister camp, Mara Plains.

This lavish camp has five tents only. Guests staying in Mara Expedition Camp explore Olare Motorogi Conservancy and the adjacent Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Activities and Experiences

The wildlife-rich plains of the conservancy call out to every adventure seeker who stays in Mara Expedition Camp. There is so much to do from dawn to dusk.

Game drives top the list of things to do in this camp, with the option of both day and night game viewing excursions. Wildlife animals to see in the conservancy include predators and the big five species.  Guests can also visit the plains of Maasai Mara, which is home to the great annual migration of wildebeests.

Game drives are offered in the company of experienced guides, in open vehicles with a canvas roof. These 4X4 vehicles can access all terrain in the conservancy.

Other exciting adventures in Mara Expedition Camp are bush dining for breakfast and lunch, sundowners in the savannah plains and cultural visits to learn about the Masai community around the conservancy.

Mara Expedition Camp sits on a perfect spot that was carefully selected to offer guests a magical sundowner overlooking the plains of Mara. The camp has five tents. They have a spacious interior and a canopy ceiling. The tents are surrounded by idyllic riverine forest cover.  They are en-suite, with modern facilities a guest needs when staying away from home.

Location/How to Get to

Mara Expedition Camp is accessible by road and by air from Nairobi. Guests can also fly from other main destinations in Kenya, such as Lewa and Nanyuki.  There are daily scheduled flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Ol Kiombo Airstrip, from where guests are transferred to the camp.

Alternatively, guests can make arrangements from charter flights to Olare Motorogi Airstrip, and then be transferred by road to Mara Expedition Camp.

Dining

Enjoying sumptuous meals is part of the experience at Mara Expedition Camp. After a long day in the plains of Mara or in the conservancy, guests are treated to delicious meals and a range of drinks and beverages.

Mara Expedition Camp has five tents, set a distance apart for an intimate camping experience. These tents open on the horizontal side, and they have canopy ceilings. The tents are set on the ground, in a serene spot with riverine vegetation around.

Mara Expedition's tents are en-suite. The bathroom facilities have a modern flush toilet and a bucket shower. The five tents have a spacious interior furnished with Indian chests and brass chandeliers among other carefully selected items.
