The festival was dubbed the Kenya Classical Fusion. Major players on the market took it to the multitudes of music lovers who had waited for such an ensemble of musical talent. They main sponsors were HUAWEI and the Kenya Television Network whereas the co-sponsors are EXCLUSIVE, the Tamarind Group, Isuzu, the Sarova Stanley Hotels, Colorprint Limited and Samsung.

Traveling Extravaganza

The performances were mobile and took place on the 22nd, the 24th and the 26th of September.

The Curtain Raiser

On the 22nd, the Soweto String Quartet alongside Erick Wainaina started the show off at the Great Lake Butterfly Pavilion at the Coast. The best Kenyan music was played.

The Crescendo

On the 24th, Rhoda Ondeng and the Soweto String Quartet performed at the Nairobi Arboretum.

A Fitting Send-off

The icing on the cake was the ultimate grand concert at the Impala Grounds on the 26th.

Soweto String Quartet

The Soweto String Quartet is world class. With 6 albums and genres such as jazz, pop, traditional fusions and jazz- fusion to its name, the sky is the beginning, to say the least!

Erick Wainaina

Erick Wainaina has collaborated with international artistes of the very indigenous African music such as Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mutukudzi. He has modernized benga without leaving any of its roots out!

Nairobi Chamber Chorus

The Nairobi Chamber Chorus, on the other hand, has redefined charitable voluntary music! The members joined the group out of their own volitions! The purpose is to spread musical knowledge and to birth interest, especially seeing as music evolves day in day out- old and new genres and styles are incorporated to bring out just the best!

A Profusion of Talent

The Kenya Classical Fusion brought the brightest stars together, and the audience was made up of young talented individuals, producers, managers and promoters of the music industry. Yet another revolution was born and nurtured to change music by integrating old and new acapellas, harmonies, beats and serenading vocals! The resultant Kenyan music mix was out of this world!

Music Lovers’ Haven

The event was the hive for lovers of music across Kenya. They rubbed shoulders with the brains behind the amazing tunes, they were blown away by the various performances and they were part of a celebration of African musical talent. Indeed, the extravaganza remains one of the finest Kenya festivals.
